1. SIGN & FLY INSURANCE

For CitiGold Debit & ATM Card

Scope of Cover:

The Insured Person shall be covered under the below mentioned provided the cost of purchase is charged to the Insured Person's Citibank Debit & ATM Card.

a.

Common Carrier Travel Accident Personal Accident) whilst on board a flight as a passenger and whilst traveling to the airport. Covered up to RM500,000.00 in the event of accidental death and dismemberment. (Cardholder's legally dependent children shall be limited to a maximum of 25% of the Capital Sum Insured for the CardHolder).

Covered up to RM350,000.00 in the event of accidental death and dismemberment.

Travel Inconvenience
i.

Flight Delay. This covers the reasonable costs incurred for meals, refreshments, hotel accommodation, telephone charges and travel expenses incurred to and fro between the airport and the hotel including essential clothing and requisites (if your baggage is checked in) if the Insured Person's Scheduled Flight is delayed in excess of 4 hours or is cancelled by the Airlines or the Insured Person is denied boarding due to overbooking, provided that no alternative transportation is made available within 4 hours of the scheduled departure of such flight. Reimbursed up to RM675.00

ii.

Missed Connecting Flight. This covers the reasonable costs incurred for meals, refreshments, hotel accommodation, telephone charges and travel expenses incurred to and fro between the airport and the hotel including essential clothing and requisites (if your baggage is checked in) if the late arrival of the Insured Person's in-coming Scheduled Flight on which they are traveling results in them missing a confirmed outward scheduled connecting flight and no alternative Schedule Flight is made available to the Insured Person within 4 hours of the actual arrival time of their incoming flight.

Baggage Delay. This covers the reasonable costs incurred for the purchase of essential clothing and requisites if the Insured Person's accompanied checked-in baggage is delayed in excess of 6 hours following the scheduled arrival at the airport of destination.

Baggage Lost. This covers the reasonable costs incurred for emergency purchases of essential clothing and requisites in addition to those payable under Baggage Delay if:

a.
The Insured Person's accompanied baggage is lost
b.
The Insured Person's accompanied checked-in baggage is not delivered to him within 24 hours of his arrival at the scheduled destination point of his flight

Provided always that such checked-in baggage was checked-in by an authorized official of the transport operator.

v.

Baggage Damage. If the Insured Personls accompanying checked-in baggage in a Air Common Carrier during his/her travel, is lost or damaged to the extent that it is no longer useable, the Insured Person shall be reimbursed up to an amount stated as soon as the Insured Person is aware that the baggage is damaged.

2. RETAIL PURCHASE PROTECTION

Scope of Cover:

The Insured Person's Personal Property purchased worldwide shall be covered under the above mentioned plan if such property shall be accidentally lost or damaged within:

a.
30 days from the date of purchase,
b.
30 days from the date of delivery for items purchased under a merchandising program, provided the cost of purchase is charged to the Insured Person's Citigold Debit & ATM Card.

If the loss is deemed to be covered under the policy, the Insurer shall be entitled at its sole option to either repair, reinstate, or replace the property lost or damaged (whether wholly or in part).

Deductible:

If the loss is deemed to be covered under the policy, the settlement amount will be subject to one of the following deductibles:

a.
50% of the loss subject to a minimum of RM75.00 in respect of accidental loss or damage including Theft (other than Burglary, Robbery & Hold-up)
b.
RM100.00 in respect of any other loss (including but not limited to Burglary, Robbery & Hold-up)

Insurance Policy Contracts

SIGN & FLY COVERAGE FOR CITIGOLD CITIBANK DEBIT & ATM CARD MEMBERS POLICY NO :

Citibank having applied to AIG General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad (795492-W) (hereafter referred to as AIG GENERAL INSURANCE) and having paid or agreed to pay premium in consideration for the insurance herein, agree with AIG GENERAL INSURANCE that any information supplied, be it by an application or proposal form or by any other method shall form the basis of this Policy.

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE agree that if during the period of insurance stated in the schedule and any subsequent period in respect of which AIG GENERAL INSURANCE agrees to accept the premium required for the renewal of this Policy, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall provide the cover as described in this Policy.

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE agree that if during the period of insurance stated in the schedule and any subsequent period in respect of which AIG GENERAL INSURANCE agrees to accept the premium required for the renewal of this Policy, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall provide the cover as described in this Policy.

SECTION A - SIGN & FLY COVERAGE

SECTION 1 - COMMON CARRIER TRAVEL ACCIDENT

1.0 Preamble

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE will pay to the Insured Person the Benefit if any Insured Event shall happen to the Insured Person whilst riding as a passenger in or on boarding or alighting from any Public Conveyance then being operated by a Common Carrier for which the Full Fare of the Insured Person has been charged by the Cardholder to their Citibank Card account, unless otherwise provided in the Preamble.

This insurance is extended to cover the Insured Person

a.
while within any Common Carrier terminal building for the express purpose of engaging in passenger travel
b.

while riding as a passenger in a registered four-wheel motorized vehicle or Public Conveyance, but only

i.
when going directly to an airport for the purpose of boarding an aircraft
ii.
when leaving from an airport after alighting from an aircraft/ship until they reach their next destination provided that in respect of 1.0 (b) (i) and (ii), the Insured Person's Full Fare for such travel by air has been charged by the Cardholder to their Citibank Card account.

Should such travel be part of a packaged tour, cover shall apply only if a minimum of 80% of the total cost of the package tour has been charged to the Cardholder's Citibank Card account.

1.1 Schedule of Benefits

Subject always to Item 1.3 Limit of Liability and 1.4 Multiple Cover Limit, the Benefit payable by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall be in accordance with the percentage prescribed in the table below :-

1.2

Capital Sum Insured

- RM 350,000.00

The sum payable to the Cardholder's legally dependent Child shall be limited to a maximum of 25% of the Capital Sum Insured of the Cardholder.

1.3

Limit of Liability

Should the aggregate amount of all claims payable from any one Loss Occurrence exceed RM45,000,000.00 then the amount payable in respect of each Insured Person shall be proportionally reduced.

1.4

Benefit Extensions

This Policy is extended to cover :-

1.4.1

Major Burns sustained during Public Conveyance Travel. Major Burns mean third degree burns covering at least 25% of the surface area of the Insured Person's body, provided such Major Burns was sustained by the Insured Person during Public Conveyance travel.

Benefit Limit : 10% of the Capital Sum Insured as stated in item 1.2, subject to a maximum of RM80,000.00.

1.4.2

Corrective Plastic Surgery necessitated by injuries sustained by the Insured Person during Public Conveyance travel Corrective Plastic Surgery Benefit reimburses the Medical Expenses incurred for corrective plastic surgery arising from injuries sustained by the Insured Person during Public Conveyance travel.

Benefit Limit : 10% of the Capital Sum Insured as stated in item 1.2, subject to a maximum of RM80,000.00.

Automatic Extension
1.5.2

Exposure and Disappearance

Notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary, it is hereby understood and agreed that if as a result of an Accident covered by this Policy the Insured Person is unavoidably exposed to the natural elements and as a result of such exposure suffers any loss as specified in this Policy, such specific loss will be covered under this Policy.

It is also understood and agreed that if the body of the Insured Person has not been found within 12 months after the date of disappearance, crashing, sinking or wrecking of the vehicle in which the Insured Person was travelling or riding at the time of such Accident covered by this Policy. It will presumed that the Insured Person sustained injury which resulted in his death at the time of such Accident. If at any time after payment has been made by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE for such claim, the Insured person is found to be alive, full refund shall be made to AIG GENERAL INSURANCE.

1.6

Exclusions

This Section does not cover any claim directly or indirectly caused by, resulting from or in connection with :

a.
war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities or warlike operations (whether war be declared or not), civil war, mutiny, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power,
b.
nuclear reaction, nuclear radiation or radioactive contamination,
c.
riot,
d.

any act of terrorism,

For this purpose, an act of terrorism means an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence and/or the threat thereof, of any person or group(s) of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organization(s) or government(s), committed for political, religious, ideological or similar purposes including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public, in fear.

This exclusion also excludes loss, damage, death, injury, illness, cost or expense of whatsoever nature directly or indirectly caused by, resulting from or in connection with any action taken in controlling, preventing, suppressing or in any way relating to any act of terrorism.

e.

the Insured Person :

i.
engaging in air / water / land / travel except as a passenger
ii.
engaging in a criminal act,
iii
committing suicide or intentional self-injury (whether felonious or not) or any attempt thereat while sane or insane.
1.7
Claim Conditions
1.7.1

The Insured Person shall complete a claim form and submit it to the designated representative as soon as practicable together with the following :

a.
Photocopy of charge form verifying that relevant air ticket was charged to a Citibank Card account.
b.
Photocopy of Airline or travel agent's receipt for air ticket
c.
Photocopy of air ticket
d.
Photocopy of Airline boarding pass (where applicable)
e.
Postmortem report / medical report(s) as may be required by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE
1.7.2

Indemnity for loss of life will be payable to the estate of the Insured Person. All other indemnities for any other class of injury will be payable to the Insured Person.

If any indemnity of this policy shall be payable to the estate of the Insured person or to an Insured Person who is a minor otherwise not competent to give a valid release, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE may pay such indemnity to his trustee. Any payment made by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE in good faith pursuant to this provision shall fully discharge AIG GENERAL INSURANCE to the extent of such payment. Benefit shall only be payable under one of the Benefits shown in Item 1.1 Schedule of Benefit.

1.7.3
The Insured Person shall as soon as possible after the occurrence of a loss likely to give rise to a claim under this Policy obtain and follow the advice of a duly qualified registered Medical Practitioner and AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall not be liable for any consequences arising by reason of the Insured Person's failure to obtain or follow such advice and use such appliances or remedies as may be prescribed.
1.7.4
If any claim under this Policy shall be in any respect fraudulent or if any fraudulent means or devices shall be used by the Insured or the Insured Person or anyone acting on behalf of the Insured or the Insured Person to obtain any Benefit under this Policy, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall be under no liability in respect of such claim.

SECTION 2 - TRAVEL INCONVENIENCE INSURANCE

2.0

Preamble

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall indemnify the Insured Person up to the amount stated in the Schedule of Benefit in Section 2.1 below if any Insured Event under Section 2.2 shall happen whilst the Insured Person is travelling as a fare-paying passenger in a Scheduled Flight for which the Full Fare of the Insured Person has been charged by the Cardholder to their Citibank Card account, unless otherwise provided in the preamble.

Should such travel be part of a package tour, cover shall apply only if a minimum of 80% of the total cost of the package tour has been changes to the Cardholder's Citibank Card account.

2.2
Insured Events
2.2.1

Flight Delay

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall pay the reasonable costs incurred for :

i.

meals, refreshments, hotel accommodation, telephone charges and travel expenses incurred to and fro between the airport and the hotel

ii.
essential clothing and requisites if the Insured Person's baggage has been checked-in if the late arrival of the Insured Person's in-coming Scheduled Flight on which they are travelling results in them missing a confirmed outward scheduled connecting flight and no alternative Scheduled Flight is made available to the Insured Person within 4 hours of the actual arrival time of their incoming flight.
2.2.2

Missed Flight Connection

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall pay the reasonable costs incurred for :

i.

meals, refreshments, hotel accommodation, telephone charges and travel expenses incurred to and fro between the airport and the hotel

essential clothing and requisites if the Insured Person's baggage has been checked-in

if the late arrival of the Insured Person's in-coming Scheduled Flight on which they are travelling results in them missing a confirmed outward scheduled connecting flight and no alternative Scheduled Flight is made available to the Insured Person within 4 hours of the actual arrival time of their incoming flight.

2.2.3

Baggage Delay

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall pay the reasonable costs incurred for the purchase of essential clothing and requisites if the Insured Person's accompanied checked-in baggage is delayed in excess of 6 hours following the scheduled arrival at the airport of destination.

2.2.4

Baggage Loss

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall pay the reasonable costs incurred for emergency purchases of essential clothing and requisites in addition to those payable under item 2.2.3 if :

i.
the Insured Person's accompanied baggage is lost
ii.

the Insured Person's accompanied checked-in baggage is not delivered to him within 24 hours of his arrival at the scheduled destination point of his flight

provided always that such checked-in baggage was checked-in by an authorised official of the transport operator with whom the Insured Person was travelling.

2.3

Exclusions

This Section does not cover any claim directly or indirectly caused by, resulting from or in connection with :

a.

the Insured Person :

i.
engaging in air / water / land / travel except as a passenger
ii.
engaging in a criminal act,
f.
failure of the Insured Person to take reasonable and necessary measures to save or recover lost baggage,
g.
failure of the Insured Person to notify airport / Airline authorities of missing baggage at the destination point and obtain a property irregularity report,
h.
abandonment of baggage to the airline or any other party
2.4
Claim Conditions
2.4.1

The Insured Person shall complete a claim form and submit it to the designated representative as soon as practicable together with the following :

a.
Photocopy of charge form verifying that relevant air ticket was charged to a Citibank Card account.
b.
Photocopy of Airline or travel agent's receipt for air ticket
c.
Photocopy of air ticket
d.
Photocopy of Airline boarding pass (where applicable)
e.
In respect of missed flight connection, flight delay or denied boarding, a written confirmation from the Airline indicating the duration of delay and the reason(s) for it.
f.
In respect of delayed or lost luggage, photocopy of boarding pass with a checked-in baggage tag, a signed and dated copy of the Property Irregularity Report obtained from the Airline.
g.
Original receipts relating to the expenses incurred and details on quantities and description of items purchased.
h.

Letter from the Airline indicating amount of compensation paid, if any.

Benefits payable under the Policy for valid claims will be credited to the Insured Person's Citibank Card account.

2.4.2
If any claim under this Policy shall be in any respect fraudulent or if any fraudulent means or devices shall be used by the Insured or the Insured Person or anyone acting on behalf of the Insured or the Insured Person to obtain any Benefit under this Policy, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall be under no liability in respect of such claim.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

1.

Geographical Limits

The insurance afforded under the Sign & Fly coverage shall apply anywhere in the world unless otherwise amended or endorsed.

2.

Automatic Termination

The insurance cover provided for any individual Citibank Debit Cardholder will terminate as of the date he ceases to be a Cardholder or the date of termination of this Policy whichever is earlier.

3.

Benefit

The benefit payable shall be that benefit applicable to the Citibank Card that the Insured Person used to pay for the Full Fare.

4.

Duty of Care

The Insured Person shall take all reasonable precaution for the safety of personal properties or baggage and shall exercise care and diligence to prevent any Bodily Injury or unnecessary risks to any contagious diseases.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1.
All words that appear in the masculine gender shall include the feminine.
2.
All amounts herein are expressed in Malaysian Ringgit.
3.
The due observance and fulfillment of the terms of this Policy in so far as they relate to anything to be done or complied with by the Insured, the Cardholder, the Insured Person or the claimant shall be conditions precedent to any liability of AIG GENERAL INSURANCE to make any payment under this Policy.
4.
AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall not be bound to accept or be affected by any notice of any trust, charge, lien, assignment or other dealing with or relating to this Policy.
5.
No sum payable under this Policy shall carry interest under any circumstances.
6.

All the difference arising out of this Policy shall be referred to the decision of an Arbitrator to be appointed in writing by the parties in difference or if they cannot agree upon a single Arbitrator to the decision of two Arbitrators one to be appointed in writing by each of the parties within one 1. calendar month having required in writing to do so by either of the parties and the two Arbitrators shall by instrument in writing appoint an Umpire immediately after they themselves are appointed. The Umpire shall sit with the Arbitrators and preside at their meeting and the making of an Award shall be a condition precedent to any right of action against AIG GENERAL INSURANCE.

If AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall disclaim liability to the claimant for any claim hereunder and such claim shall not within twelve (12) calendar months from the date of such disclaimer have been referred to arbitration under the provisions herein contained, then the claim shall for all purposes be deemed to have been abandoned and shall not thereafter be recovered hereunder.

7.
This Policy shall be construed according to and governed by the laws of Malaysia.
8.
Words importing singular meaning, where the context so admits, include the plural meaning and vice versa.
9.

On the happening of any event likely to give rise to a claim under this Policy, the Insured Person shall as soon as is reasonably practicable but not later than 30 days after such event (unless there are extenuating circumstances), give written notice thereof to AIG GENERAL INSURANCE through the designated representative as shown below and shall furnish all such particulars and evidence as the designated representative may reasonably require and shall take all practicable steps towards minimizing the loss or damage:

All information, evidence and proof required by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE or the designated representative shall be furnished at the expense of the Insured Person and shall be in such form and manner prescribed by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE or the designated representative. The Insured Person shall do all such acts and things as AIG GENERAL INSURANCE or the designated representative shall reasonable require.

DEFINITIONS

1.
"Accident" means a sudden, unforeseen and unexpected event.
2.
"Airline(s)" means an Airline listed in the most current Official Airline Guide issued by and updated from time to time and the Airline holds a valid certificate, licence or similar authorization for scheduled air transportation issued by the relevant authorities in the country in which its aircraft is operating.
3.
"Benefit" means the sum set out against the relevant Insured Event.
4.
"Bodily Injury" means bodily injury which is caused solely and directly by an Accident and shall exclude bodily injury caused by sickness or disease, bacterial or viral infection not occurring through an accidental cut or wound.
5.
"Cardholder" in respect of the Sign & Fly Coverage means the holder of a valid Citibank Debit & ATM Card (Basic Only) issued by the Insured and billed in Malaysia.
6.
"Citibank Card" means CitiBlue Citibank Debit & ATM Card.
7.
"Common Carrier" means a conveyance that is licensed for the carriage of passengers in accordance with the conditions and statutes laid down by the appropriate regulatory authorities and that is available for use by fare paying passengers.
8.
"Child" shall mean any child of the Insured Person who is an unmarried person, is financially dependent upon the Insured Person and is under the age of 18, or up to the age of 23 for those registered as full time students at a recognised educational institution.
9.
"Concessionary Fare" includes :
a.
Discounted tickets offered by a Public Conveyance operator,
b.
Tickets offered on special promotions, including 'free tickets' given together with purchased tickets, the cost of which have been charged by the Cardholders to their Citibank Card account, provided both purchased tickets and 'free tickets" were issued in the names of Insured Persons,
c.
Tickets offered as part of Citibank Rewards Programs or similar programs offered by Citibank with or without additional cost chargeable. In the event that cost is chargeable, 100% of such cost must be charged by the Citibank Cardholders to their Citibank Card account.
10.
"Date Of Accident" is the date when the accident occurs.
11.

"Family Members" means the following:

the Cardholder's legally married spouse, and

all the Cardholder's legally dependent Child

12.
"Full Fare" means the 100% fare payable by the Cardholder on standard fare or Concessionary Fare.
13.
"Insured " means Citibank Berhad, Malaysia.
14.
"Insured Person" in respect of the Sign & Fly Coverage means the Citibank Cardholder or any one of his Family Members as defined herein.
15.
"Journey" means any trip not exceeding 30 days involving travel to any point outside of the territorial boundary of Malaysia, including its offshore islands.
16.

"Loss Occurrence" means each and every claim and or series of claims arising out of any one Accident or event.

The duration and extent of any one Loss Occurrence so defined shall be limited to 72 consecutive hours and a radius of one hundred (100) miles (one hundred and sixty (160) kilometers) radius, and no individual loss which occurs outside this period or area shall be included in that Loss Occurrence.

17.
"Permanent" shall mean lasting twelve (12) calendar months from the date of accident and at the expiry of the twelve (12) calendar month period being beyond hope of improvement.
18.
"Public Conveyance" means any Scheduled Flight, or any land or water conveyance which is duly licensed for the transportation of fare-paying passengers and shall exclude any private hire or rental vehicle or any conveyance operated for the purpose of sightseeing or tour.
19.
"Scheduled Flight" means any one of the following :
a.
A flight on an Airline over a scheduled route,
b.
An additional flight operated by an Airline to meet demands over a scheduled route,
c.

A chartered flight on an Airline for which tickets are issued through appointed agents and available to the public at large.

Departure times, transfers and destination points shall be established by reference to the Insured Person's Scheduled Flight ticket.

SECTION B - RETAIL PURCHASE PROTECTIONs

SECTION 1 - THE COVER

1.0

Preamble

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE will indemnify the Insured Person for any Personal Property purchased worldwide if such Personal Property is accidentally lost or damaged within :

a.
30 days from the date of purchase,
b.

30 days from the date of delivery for items purchased under a merchandising program,

provided the cost of the purchase is charged to the Cardholder's Citibank Card account.

For any claimable loss under this Policy, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall be entitled at its sole option to repair, reinstate or replace the property lost or damaged (whether wholly or in part).

2.0
Deductible
a.
50% of the loss subject to a minimum of RM75.00 in respect of accidental loss or damage including Theft (other than Burglary, Robbery & Hold-Up)
b.
RM100.00 in respect of any other loss (including but not limited to Burglary, Robbery & Hold-Up)
3.0
Limits
3.1
AIG GENERAL INSURANCE will not be liable for more than the purchase price of the Insured Personal Property as recorded on the Citibank Card charge form or the limit as stated in the schedule below, whichever is lower.
3.2
If the Insured Personal Property was purchased with a partial payment using the Citibank Card, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE's limit of liability shall be pro-rated based on the percentage the partial payment bears to the full purchase price.
3.3
For Personal Property purchased through Citibank Card instalment scheme for which instalment payments are allowed, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE's limit of liability shall not exceed the full purchase price and indemnity will be subject to full settlement of the purchase price by the Cardholder.
3.4

The maximum limit of liability of AIG GENERAL INSURANCE under this Policy is RM 25,000.00 for any one Policy Period.

Special Provisions

If at the time of any claim arising under this Policy, there is other valid and collectable insurance covering all or part of the same loss, this Policy will apply only to the amount of any loss in excess of that recoverable under the other insurance.

SECTION 2 - EXCLUSIONS

1.0

Excluded Property

This Policy does not cover any loss or damage to :

a.
property that is insured under any other insurance policy unless its coverage does not extend to cover such loss or damage;
b.
property that is covered under a guarantee or warranty unless the loss or damage is not otherwise covered;
c.
consumables and perishables;
d.
motor vehicles, motorcycles or their motors, equipment and accessories (including communication devices solely for use in the vehicle), bicycles, marine craft, aircraft, model airplanes and boats;
e.
business property or property purchased to be used for a business purpose
f.
cash, bank and currency notes, cheques, travellers cheques, money orders, postal orders, postage stamps, securities, negotiable instruments of any kind, bullion, rare or precious coins, documents or tickets of any kind, unset gemstones;
g.
livestock, pets, animals, plants or other living creatures
2.0

Excluded Causes

AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by or arising from :

a.
mechanical, electrical or electronic breakdown, failure or derangement
b.
theft from any unattended vehicle unless all windows are securely closed and all doors, boot and openings are securely locked and there is visible sign of break-in;
c.
marring or scratching, denting, chaffing, deterioration, depreciation, alteration, maintenance, any process of cleaning or drying, repairing, renovation, bleaching, dyeing, restoring or servicing;
d.
leakage, loss of weight, shrinkage, evaporation, bulging, buckling, contamination, insect or vermin, inherent vice, wear and tear, rust, corrosion, mildew, atmospheric or climatic conditions (including wind, rain, hail, sleet, snow and frost) and any other gradually operating causes;
e.
delay, seizure, confiscation, destruction, requisition, retention or detention by Customs or other Government or Public Authority or Official;
f.
the intentional, deliberate or fraudulent acts of the Insured Person or his representatives, or anyone residing in the same household or to whom the Insured Personal Property has been entrusted;
g.
mysterious disappearance or unexplained loss;
h.
transit by air, vessels or ships, trains or vehicles, or any other mode of Public Transportation unless the Insured Personal Property is hand-carried by the Insured Person during the course of transit;
i.
product defects, faulty or defective design, material or workmanship, latent defect;
j.
ionising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel, or the radioactive toxic explosive or hazardous properties of any nuclear assembly or nuclear component thereof.
3.0

General Exclusions

This Section does not cover any claim directly or indirectly caused by, resulting from or in connection with :

a.
war, invasion, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities or warlike operations (whether war be declared or not), civil war, mutiny, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power,
b.
nuclear reaction, nuclear radiation or radioactive contamination,
c.
riot,
d.

any act of terrorism,

For this purpose, an act of terrorism means an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence and/or the threat thereof, of any person or group(s) of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organization(s) or government(s), committed for political, religious, ideological or similar purposes including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public, in fear.

This exclusion also excludes loss, damage, death, injury, illness, cost or expense of whatsoever nature directly or indirectly caused by, resulting from or in connection with any action taken in controlling, preventing, suppressing or in any way relating to any act of terrorism.

diminution in value or loss of use of the Insured Personal Property or consequential loss of any and every kind
f.
AIG GENERAL INSURANCE is not liable to make payment for liability under any sections of this policy or make any payment under any extension for any loss or claim arising in, or where the Insured Person or any beneficiary(ies) under the policy is a citizen or instrumentality of the government of, any country(ies) against which any laws and/or regulations governing this policy and/or AIG GENERAL INSURANCE, its parent company or its ultimate holding entity have established an embargo or other form of economic sanction which have the effect of prohibiting AIG GENERAL INSURANCE from providing insurance coverage or transacting business with or otherwise offering economic benefits to the Insured Person or any other beneficiary(ies) under the policy. It is further understood and agreed that no benefits or payments will be made to any beneficiary(ies) who is declared unable to receive economic benefits under the laws and/or regulations governing this policy and/or the insurer, its parent company or its ultimate holding entity.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

1.

Geographical Limits

The insurance afforded under the Retail Purchase Protection coverage shall apply anywhere in the world unless otherwise amended or endorsed.

2.

Automatic Termination

The insurance cover provided for any individual Citibank Cardholder will terminate as of the date he ceases to be a Cardholder or the date of termination of this Policy whichever is earlier.

3.

Duty of Care

The Insured Person shall take all reasonable precaution for the safety of personal properties.

CLAIMS CONDITIONS

1.

On the happening of any event likely to give rise to a claim under this Policy, the Insured Person shall as soon as is reasonably practicable but not later than 30 days after such event (unless there are extenuating circumstances), give written notice thereof to AIG GENERAL INSURANCE or through the designated representative as shown below and shall furnish all such particulars and evidence may reasonably require and shall take all practicable steps towards minimizing the loss or damage :

All information, evidence and proof required by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall be furnished at the expense of the Insured Person and shall be in such form and manner prescribed by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE. The Insured Person shall do all such acts and things as AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall reasonable require.
3.
The Insured Person shall notify the Police immediately upon the loss or damaged of the Insured Personal Property (howsoever caused) and obtain a Police Report.
4.
The Insured Person shall complete a Claim Form and submit it to AIG General Insurance or the designated representative as soon as practicable together with the following :-
a.
Policy Report (for Insured Personal Property lost or willfully damaged)
b.
Original sales receipt / invoice
c.
Photocopy of charge form / billing statement
d.
Photograph of damaged Insured Personal Property
e.
The damaged Insured Personal Property, when requested, at Insured Person's expense
5.
AIG GENERAL INSURANCE may reinstate, repair or replace the Insured Personal Property, as the case may be. Upon settlement of a total loss, any salvage shall become the absolute property of AIG GENERAL INSURANCE to dispose of as it deems fit and for its own benefit. In no event shall the Insured Person abandon the Insured Personal Property to AIG GENERAL INSURANCE or the designated representative unless with prior written consent of AIG GENERAL INSURANCE.
6.
In the event of a claim under this Policy, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE may at any time use all legal means in its own or the Insured Person's name to recover any part of the Insured Personal Property or to obtain reimbursement of any loss or damage and the Insured or its representatives and the Insured Person shall give all information and assistance for that purpose.
7.
If any claim under this Policy be fraudulent or fraudulent means are utilized to secure payments of Benefits under this Policy then such actions shall render all insurance provided by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE null and void in respect of any Insured Person / Cardholder without prejudice to the Citibank Card.
8.
Where any Insured Personal Property consists of articles in a pair or set, AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall not be liable to pay more than the value of any part or parts which may be lost or damaged without reference to any special value which such article or articles may have as a part of such pair or set, nor more than a proportionate part of the value of the pair or set.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1.
All words that appear in the masculine gender shall include the feminine.
2.
All amounts herein are expressed in Malaysian Ringgit.
3.
The due observance and fulfilment of the terms of this Policy in so far as they relate to anything to be done or complied with by the Insured, the Cardholder, the Insured Person or the claimant shall be conditions precedent to any liability of AIG GENERAL INSURANCE to make any payment under this Policy.
4.
AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall not be bound to accept or be affected by any notice of any trust, charge, lien, assignment or other dealing with or relating to this Policy.
5.
No sum payable under this Policy shall carry interest under any circumstances.
6.

All the difference arising out of this Policy shall be referred to the decision of an Arbitrator to be appointed in writing by the parties in difference or if they cannot agree upon a single Arbitrator to the decision of two Arbitrators one to be appointed in writing by each of the parties within one (1) calendar month having required in writing to do so by either of the parties and the two Arbitrators shall by instrument in writing appoint an Umpire immediately after they themselves are appointed. The Umpire shall sit with the Arbitrators and preside at their meeting and the making of an Award shall be a condition precedent to any right of action against AIG GENERAL INSURANCE.

If AIG GENERAL INSURANCE shall disclaim liability to the claimant for any claim hereunder and such claim shall not within twelve (12) calendar months from the date of such disclaimer have been referred to arbitration under the provisions herein contained, then the claim shall for all purposes be deemed to have been abandoned and shall not thereafter be recovered hereunder.

7.
This Policy shall be construed according to and governed by the laws of Malaysia.
8.
Words importing singular meaning, where the context so admits, include the plural meaning and vice versa.
9.
On the happening of any event likely to give rise to a claim under this Policy, the Insured Person shall as soon as is reasonably practicable but not later than 30 days after such event (unless there are extenuating circumstances), give written notice thereof to AIG GENERAL INSURANCE through the designated representative as shown below and shall furnish all such particulars and evidence as the designated representative may reasonably require and shall take all practicable steps towards minimizing the loss or damage :

authorised by the Insured; or
b.
required by law or applicable regulation, or
c.
necessitated by AIG GENERAL INSURANCE in the course of their business

Definitions

1.
"Burglary" means loss of Insured Personal Property following forcible and violent entry or exit from the premises or committed by a person or persons feloniously concealed therein where the Insured Personal Property is situated.
2.
"Cardholder" means the holder of a valid CitiGold Citibank Debit & ATM Card (Basic Card only) issued by the Insured and billed in Malaysia
3.
"Card Customer" means a Citibank Cardholder with one or more Citibank Debit & ATM Cards (basic card only) issued by the Insured.
4.
"Citibank Card" means CitiBlue Citibank Debit & ATM Card.
5.
"Insured" means Citibank Berhad, Malaysia.
6.
"Insured Person" means the Citibank Debit & ATM Cardholder.
7.
"Insured Personal Property" means any tangible personal property of the Insured Person the full cost or portion of cost which has been charged to a Citibank Debit & ATM Card not being property excluded under this Policy.
8.
"Occurrence" means an incident, which results in loss of or damage to the Insured Personal Property.
9.
"Policy Period" means the period during which the Insured Person is covered in respect of the Occurrence under the terms and conditions of the Policy and during which AIG GENERAL INSURANCE is liable to pay benefits as herein provided.
10.
"Policy Schedule" means the schedule that gives details of the Insured, Insured Person, Policy Period, risks, coverage and clauses and/or endorsements applicable.
11.
"Public Transportation" means any air, land or water conveyance, which is duly licensed for the regular transportation of fare-paying passenger.
12.
"Robbery & Hold-Up" means loss of Insured Personal Property following assault or violence or the threat of it.
13.

"Theft" means any act of stealing or attempted thereat including snatch thief or pick-pocketing but excluding Burglary, Robbery & Hold-Up.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the AIG GENERAL INSURANCE (MALAYSIA) BERHAD has caused this policy to be signed but it shall not be binding upon the Company unless countersigned by an Authorized Representative of the Company.

Citibank Debit & ATM Card Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Citibank DEBIT & ATM Card ("the Card") which are to be read together with the relevant Account Terms and Conditions, as well as the rules and regulations and any other rules and regulations binding on Citibank Berhad, Malaysia ("the Bank").

In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms and expressions shall have the following meanings unless the context requires otherwise:

"Account(s)" means any and all of the Cardholder's account opened and maintained with the Bank, including but not limited to the Designated Account as the case may be (whether alone or jointly with any other person(s) and whether current, deposit, loan or otherwise).

"ATM" means automated teller machine or card operated machine, whether belonging to the Bank or other participating banks or financial institutions or to the VISA Global ATM Network, or their affiliated networks, in respect of which the Bank has a subsisting arrangement to allow the Cardholder to use the Card at such machine.

"Cardholder" means a customer of the Bank to whom the Card has been issued.

"Debit Transaction" means a Transaction effected under the VISA name, mark and logo through the use of the Card with or without a PIN and accompanied by the Cardholder's signature except that in the case of self serve terminals, such as petrolkiosk and internet terminals, the Cardholder's signature is not required.

"Designated Account" means the Account designated by the Cardholder (and which the designation has been approved by the Bank) for the time being for the purpose of carrying out the Debit Transactions.

"Held Balance" means at any time the total amount estimated by the Bank to be the amount of any and all the Debit transactions effected or proposed to be effected on the Card, but which have not been debited from the Designated Account.

"PIN" means the personal identification number of the Card, which shall be allocated by the Bank to the Cardholder uponthe Cardholder's request to utilise the Card.

"Transaction" means any and all banking transaction effected through the use of the Card and/or PIN and shall include but not limited to, withdrawal of cash, purchase, payment, fund transfer, balance inquiry, deposit of cash and cheque, settlement of bills and any other electronic banking service as the Bank shall offer or introduce from time to time (whether via ATM, Pointof-Sale (POS) terminal, internet transaction or such other terminals or channels that is available to the Cardholder). For the avoidance of doubt, the term "Transaction" shall include "Debit Transactions".

"Transaction Limits" means the relevant maximum accumulated daily limit permitted by the Bank, and communicated to the Cardholder by the Bank from time to time in respect of each type of Transaction that may be available to the Cardholder respectively.

"Validity Date" means the expiry date of the Card as printed on the Card.

"Visa" or "Visa International" means VISA International Service Association, an association incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States of America with its registered office at 900, 901, 800, Metro Center Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404-2172 United States of America of which we are a member institution and includes its successors-in-title and assigns.

  1. The Card shall remain the property of the Bank at all times and the Cardholder shall surrender the Card to the Bank immediately upon its demand. The Card may only be used subject to the conditions of use imposed by the Bank from time to time, the applicable laws of Malaysia and the rules and regulations imposed by the regulatory authorities of Malaysia.
  2. Upon the Cardholder opening an account at any of the Bank's branches in Malaysia, the Cardholder shall, at the Bank's absolute discretion, be issued the Card upon application. The Cardholder shall thereafter validate the Card for use by signing on the signature panel at the back of the Card and select the PIN for the Card. The Cardholder shall not at any time disclose the PIN to anyone to facilitate the use of the Card.
  3. The Card is valid only until the Validity Date. Upon the expiry of the Validity Date, the Cardholder shall cut the Card in half and return the destroyed card to the Bank for a new Card, which shall be issued at the sole discretion of the Bank.
  4. The Cardholder understands that the Card is not transferable and may not be used by any other person.
  5. The Cardholder shall not use or attempt to use the Card unless there are sufficient funds in the Account(s). Further, the usage of the Card is subject to the Transaction Limits that may be imposed on the Card. In the event that any Transaction should exceed the relevant Transaction Limit, the Bank reserves the right to reject the Transaction.
  6. If for any reason the Designated Account is overdrawn, the Cardholder shall, on demand by the Bank, make good the amount overdrawn plus any interest thereon which shall be calculated on the interest rates prescribed by the Bank from time to time for overdraft facilities granted by the Bank. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event that the Bank has granted an overdraft facility to the Cardholder which is linked to the Designated Account, then the prevailing terms and conditions with regard to the overdraft facility granted by the Bank to the Cardholder shall apply.
  7. The Card must not be used for any unlawful activities, activities which are fraudulent or activities which are or which the Bank believes are prohibited under the terms and conditions as set out in this document or the laws of Malaysia. This prohibition extends to any online betting and/ or gambling activity and/or any business or commercial purpose which are deemed unacceptable by the Bank. In this connection, the Bank does not owe the Cardholder any duty and/or obligation whatsoever to monitor and block the use of the Card for any prohibited activity, although the Bank shall be entitled to block authorisation for the use of the Card for such activities, if the Bank chooses to do so at any time. If the Bank does find or suspect that the Card has been used for any prohibited activity, the Bank shall be entitled to immediately terminate the use of the Card without prior notice to the Cardholder.
  8. The Cardholder may request the Bank to change any of the Transaction Limits to a lower limit but the Bank is under no obligation to agree to the Cardholder's request. Changes to any of the Transaction Limits shall be subject always to such other terms and conditions that may be imposed by the Bank from time to time. Further to the above, the Bank also reserves its rights to vary any of the Transaction Limits at any time and from time to time at its sole and absolute discretion without assigning any reason therefore and the Cardholder shall be notified of the variation in any form or method as the Bank may prescribe.
  9. The Cardholder shall in all circumstances accept full responsibility for all Transactions processed by the use of the Card, whether or not processed with the Cardholder's knowledge, acquiescence, or authority. The Cardholder hereby authorises the Bank to debit the Cardholder's account with the amount of any payment, purchase, withdrawal of cash or transfer of funds effected with the Card in accordance with the Bank's record of transactions.
  10. Debit Transactions shall be deemed to be cash withdrawal transactions and the Cardholder hereby authorise the Bank to debit his Designated Account for the total amount of any payment, purchase, withdrawal of cash or transfer of funds effected with the Card in accordance with the Bank's record of transactions.
  11. Cash withdrawal transactions, when or where applicable, made at POS terminals using the Card shall be subject to the following:
    1. that the cash withdrawal shall be made together with purchases made using the Card;
    2. the amount of each cash withdrawal is not more than the limit specifically prescribed by the Bank and/or the relevant merchant in respect of cash withdrawal of this nature, whichever is lower, from time to time and at any time;
    3. shall only be transacted at selected Bank's authorized merchants in Malaysia; and
    4. such other relevant terms and conditions that the Bank and/or the relevant merchant may impose at their sole and absolute discretion from time to time.
  12. In addition to the interests, charges and fees which the Bank may levy in connection with the Accounts, the Cardholder is liable to pay such other interest, charges and fees at such rates and amounts and on such basis as the Bank may, in its sole discretion, prescribe from time to time without notice to the Cardholder in connection with the issued and/or use of the Card.
  13. The Bank may assign a Held Balance for the purpose of any Debit Transaction proposed to be effected on the Card. The amount of such Held Balance and period that such Held Balance may be maintained shall be determined by the Bank at its absolute discretion. The Bank may at its sole discretion debit the Designated Account with the amount of the Held Balance (or any part thereof) whether or not such amount represents the Debit Transaction. If the Bank debits any amount from the Designated Account as aforesaid and the Bank subsequently determines that such amount (or any part thereof) ought not to be so debited, the Bank will re-credit such sum to the Designated Account (free of interest).
  14. The Cardholder shall use reasonable precautions to prevent loss or theft of the Card or the disclosure of the PIN to any unauthorised person or the unauthorised use of the Card or PIN and upon such event, will immediately:
    1. notify the Bank;
    2. make a police report in the country where the event occurred and send the Bank a written confirmation of such event within three (3) days after having notified the Bank and made a police report, whenever required.

      The Cardholder shall remain liable in respect of Transactions effected with the Card before such notice reaches the Bank provided always that in cases where the Bank, in its sole and absolute opinion, believes that the Cardholder has acted fraudulently or dishonestly in using the Card or in causing the loss or theft of the Card or the disclosure of the PIN, the Cardholder shall be liable to the Bank in respect of all Transactions effected with the Card and for all losses, costs, expenses and damages suffered or incurred by the Bank as a result of the fraudulent or dishonest act notwithstanding the fact that the Cardholder has reported the incident in accordance with this condition and shall indemnify and keep the Bank indemnified from all such losses, costs, expenses and damages. When a lost or stolen Card is found, the Cardholder shall not use the Card so retrieved but shall immediately cut the Card in half and return the destroyed card to the Bank. The Bank is under no obligation to issue a replacement card or a new PIN.

  15. The Cardholder agrees that all Transactions arising from the use of the Card in respect of a joint account shall be binding on all the joint account holders, jointly and severally, whether or not such Transactions were entered into with the knowledge, acquiescence or authority of any of the other joint account holders.
  16. The Cardholder accepts the Bank's record of Transactions effected with the Card as correct save and except for manifest error and it shall be binding and conclusive evidence of such Transactions.
  17. The issuance of the Card does not imply any obligation on the Bank's part that the Card will be honoured.
  18. In the event that there is a dispute arising from or in connection with any Transaction, the Bank shall not be obligated to entertain such dispute. If the Bank decides at its absolute discretion to entertain such dispute, reversal of the Transaction (if any) shall only take place at upon completion of the investigations into the dispute.
  19. The Bank may at any time by prior written notice to the Cardholder vary, add to or amend these terms and conditions and the Cardholder hereby agrees to be bound by any such variation, addition, deletion and amendment. Such notice shall be deemed to be effective on the date stated therein and shall be dispatched by ordinary post and shall be deemed to be received by the Cardholder whether or not the Cardholder receives the notice.
  20. The Cardholder shall return (whether formally demanded or not) the Card to the Bank for cancellation in the event of the Cardholder no longer requiring the Card or if the Card shall be withdrawn by the Bank for any reason whatsoever or if the Bank at its absolute discretion and without assigning any reason cancels the Card by giving a notice in writing to the Cardholder.
  21. The Cardholder agrees not to hold the Bank liable, responsible or accountable in any way whatsoever by reason of any loss, damage, or injury howsoever caused or if the Card is not honoured, due to any mechanical defect or malfunction of any ATM, POS terminal, internet network or such other terminals or channels that is available to the Cardholder or due to a loss or interruption of power supply.
  22. The Bank shall not be held liable for any act or omission by any merchant accepting the Card howsoever caused, including but not limited to, any refusal to accept the Card, or any statement or other communication made in connection therewith, or any defect or deficiency in goods or services. The Cardholder must liaise directly with the merchant on any claim or dispute and will not dispute any payment made by the Bank from the Cardholder's Account on such claims or dispute.
  23. The terms and conditions governing and regulating the Account of the Cardholder with the Bank, in so far as they are not inconsistent with the terms and conditions herein, shall apply to transactions effected with the use of the Card.
  24. The Cardholder acknowledges that the balance reflected on the ATM screens, the internet or such other terminals or channels that is available to the Cardholder shall not include deposits which have not been verified by the Bank and cheques issued by the Cardholder which have not been processed by the Bank. The balance reflected on the ATM screen, the internet or such other terminals or channels that are available to the Cardholder shall not be taken as conclusive of the state of the Cardholder's account.
  25. Any renewal or replacement of the Card shall be subject to charges and fees that may be imposed by the Bank from time to time and such other the terms and conditions prevailing at that time.
  26. The Cardholder acknowledges that the Bank may, at its absolute discretion, grant to the Cardholder a "Card link" ("the Link"). If the Link has been so granted, the Card may be used to effect transactions relating to such accounts opened by the Cardholder as may be determined by the Bank. Where new accounts are opened by the Cardholder subsequent to the grant of the Link, the Bank may, at its absolute discretion, grant an extension of the Link to such new accounts.
  27. A Cardholder shall only be issued with one Card at any one time, subject to the Bank's absolute discretion to issue more than one Card to a Cardholder as it deems fit.
  28. Where a Cardholder has been issued more than one Card, the Bank has the right to cancel any cards as the Bank may determine and the Cardholder shall surrender such Card to the Bank.
  29. The Cardholder shall fully indemnify the Bank and hold the Bank harmless against any loss, damage, liability, costs and expenses which the Bank may incur or suffer as a result of or in connection with any use or attempted use of the Card or the PIN and/or these Terms and Conditions, including without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing:
    1. the Cardholder's breach of any of the Cardholder's obligations under these Terms and Conditions;
    2. the actual or attempted enforcement or protection of any of the Bank's rights and remedies against the Cardholder; and/or
    3. any change in law, regulation or official directive which has an effect on the Card and/or these Terms and Conditions and the same may be debited from any of the Account and/or shall be paid by the Cardholder on demand.

INTERNATIONAL DEBIT & ATM CARD SERVICE TERMS & CONDITIONS

The terms used herein shall have the same meanings as the terms defined in the DEBIT & ATM Card Service Terms and Conditions, unless the context specifies otherwise.

By participating in the International Card Service wherein the Cardholder is entitled to use the Card overseas to make withdrawals at ATMs belonging to the Bank, Citicorp, Citibank N.A., Citicorp Overseas Investment Corporation and their respective banking subsidiaries or related corporations or other participating banks or financial institutions to the VISA Global ATM Network, or their affiliated networks, in respect of which the Bank has a subsisting arrangement to allow the Cardholder to use the Card at such machine ("ATMs") as well as perform Debit Transactions using the Card at authorized merchants, the Cardholder understands that the use of the Card in respect of the International Card Service is subject to the terms and conditions of the Card Service and the following terms and conditions:

  1. In connection with the use of the Card, the Cardholder acknowledges that Citibank N.A. would have to make arrangements on behalf of the Bank for transaction data to be collected, stored and communicated for processing. Such processing may include identifying account balance information and will, in whole or in part, be performed electronically on behalf of the Bank by other entities either in the country where the Cardholder used the ATM or elsewhere.
  2. The Cardholder hereby consents:
    1. to the collection, storage, communication and processing of identifying and account balance information by any means necessary for the Bank to maintain appropriate transaction and account records;
    2. to the release and transmission to participants and processors in the Citishare network of details of the Account of the Cardholder, PIN and information and other data in respect of the Transaction which are necessary to enable the Card to be used at any ATM outside Malaysia;
    3. to the retention of such information and data by the said participants and processors in the Citishare network with laws and regulations governing change control, disclosure of information and such other areas to which such participants and processors are subject.
  3. Where the Card is used outside Malaysia, the transaction shall be charged in the official currency of the country concerned and converted into Ringgit Malaysia at such exchange rate and at such time as may be determined by VISA International or the Bank at its absolute discretion. The Cardholder shall bear all exchange risks, losses, commission, fees and charges which may thereby arise.
  4. All Transactions made outside Malaysia overseas shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions as well as those laws existing in the country where the Transactions originate.
  5. The Bank may at any time without notice suspend or terminate the Cardholder's ability to use the Card at any Citibank ATMs or non-Citibank ATMs or authorised merchants outside Malaysia and the Bank shall not be liable to the Cardholder for any loss or damage suffered by the Cardholder resulting in any way from such suspension or termination.
  6. The Cardholder shall pay to the Bank all fees and charges which are or may be imposed or incurred by the Bank from time to time in connection with the Cardholder's use of the Card at ATMs or any authorised merchant offering the International Card Service and in this respect, the Bank shall be entitled to debit any of the Account(s) of the Cardholder for such amounts.
